The Colts have announced that they have agreed to terms with running back Ahmad Bradshaw. This is a move that many have been anticipating for a little while now and it’s finally official. This move will certainly be welcomed by Colts Nation as there hasn’t really been a solid back-up to Frank Gore so far this season. Josh Robinson and Tyler Varga show promise but Robinson has a case of butter hands and Varga is still dealing with a concussion.
Bradshaw was a great addition to the Colts for the past two seasons. His hard running style and great pass blocking made him a key piece to how the offense worked behind Andrew Luck. The obvious knock on Bradshaw is his durability. In the 13 games that Bradshaw has donned the Horseshoe he has tallied 611 yards rushing and 342 yards receiving while totaling 10 touchdowns. Could this be the missing link to the offense? I doubt it as Gore is the workhorse now and Bradshaw will be used to spell Gore. However that doesn’t mean that Bradshaw cannot give the offense a big boost while he is in there. The other great thing about having Bradshaw back is that he knows the offense and how everything works so there is little to be worked on.
Welcome back Ahmad, glad you’re in the blue and white again. Look forward to having you on the team and alongside Frank you two can be a great tandem.
